The techniques I will use to motivate and retain my team and why I think these will work To begin it is crucial to understand that as important as a team identity is, the team itself are made up of individuals with independent wants and needs and will therefore be motivated by different things. People assume that employees are purely motivated by money and this is simply not the case. Job satisfaction is pivotal to a successful team and consequently would be the focus of any motivational strategy I would create for a resort unit. Via a series of techniques including training, setting of goals and targets, incentives and rewards and primarily communication I would plan to motivate and thereby retain my team and have them perform to the best of their ability. I would seek to implement an intensive training programme to ensure the group are entirely comfortable in their roles. By setting out exactly what is expected of the individual and of the team, their places within such are identified and they can
