Cognitive Psychology Franz Josef Gall - interested in mental abilities (1758-1828) - Phrenology Brain is like a muscle= by feeling skull= says what kind of personality you have -Problematic: brains don’t buff up that much -Brain doesn’t push out of skull -Controversial- Are you going to find specific area where processes take place or are they widely distributed -Localized or distributed? What is mix? -Modules- specific areas that control specific tasks -Tried to locate various areas of brain associated w/ personality traits Ex.
