VOCABULARY MEMORY -Process involved in retaining & using information about stimuli, images, FILTER MODEL -Proposed by DONALD BROADBENT : a series of processing stages to explain how people can selectively attend to one message out of many MODAL MODEL OF MEMORY -Proposed by RICHARD ATKINSON & RICHARD SHIFFRIN (1968): contained features of many memory models being proposed in 1960s. The SENSORY MEMORY -Initial stage, holds all incoming information for seconds SHORT- TERM MEMORY -Holds 5-7 items for about 15- 30 seconds LONG- TERM MEMORY -Hold large amounts of information for years CONTROL PROCESSES -Active processes that can be controlled by person and may differ from one task to another ENCODING -Process of storing memory into LTM RETRIEVAL -Process of remember information stored in LTM PERSISTENCE OF VISION -Retention of perception of light in your mind WHOLE REPORT METHOD
