FOSTERING COMMITMENT 2 Fostering Commitment I have various commitments within my daily life that include work, home, and my education. However, I strongly believe that my commitment to completing my education is of the highest priority to me. Chapter five of the text refers to different ways people foster higher levels of commitment. Some of the various suggestions given to assist in nurturing commitment are quite useful to me. The first suggestion given is to look for meaning. When making the decision to go back to school, it was important that I have a reason to go. The desire to help others is my personal link to a college education. Without a college degree I cannot attain a position within the psychology profession. Another suggestion with the text mentions going public with my goals. When asked what
