ENERGY RESOURCE CHALLENGES 2 Energy Resource Challenges This week’s video explained wind energy, solar energy, and liquid fuel alternatives. Wind energy is a challenging energy source. The energy from the wind is collected within turbines. These turbines begin to turn when the wind blows. This source of energy is highly favorable and environmentally friendly. However, the wind does not always blow, and when it does often it is barely enough to get the wind turbines moving. Solar energy is obtained by large panels used to collect energy from the sun. This form of energy is also known as photovoltaic energy. A challenge presented with this energy source is the lack of constant sun. It is impossible to expect constant solar energy at night or on cloudy days. Even though 75% of the population is in favor of this energy source, it must be used on a larger scale before it will make a substantial difference. Liquid fuel alternatives such as ethanol are another form of energy. This alternative has
