Mark Moeller 11/13/06 Period 4 Chapters 20-24 questions 1. What do you think were Wart’s true feelings about Kay being knighted? Although the Wart claims that he is genuinely happy for Kay, it is clear that he is very jealous. I don’t think that the Wart was lying when he said he was happy for Kay, because, as we have learned throughout the book, Wart is very compassionate and caring of the feelings of others. This of course is one of the great qualities that make him a great king. However, as we have seen Wart wishing he were a knight several times, and though his very depressed actions, it is clear that the Wart would rather be the one knighted. 2. Why did the hedgehog fear the Wart so much, and what was the Wart’s reaction to this? Still very upset about Kay being knighted and Merlyn’s departure, the Wart rudely greets a friendly hedgehog by threatening to kill it. Even after Wart withdraws his pervious statements, the hedgehog refuses to uncurl. The Wart, in the form of a badger, was in a higher position than the hedgehog, and therefore greatly
