Example Drug Oxycontin Prescription painkiller abuse rates tripled in 90’s Approved in 1996, #1 prescribed drug in 2001. “Oxy” crushed, snorted. Street value $20-40. More common in affluent well educated adult whites but rapidly increasing in 12-17 females Chronic back pain.
