The current week's group of plant notes should be brought to each Monday lecture. Available on Blackboard. Do not print the entire document at one setting in the PUCC labs out of respect for other PUCC lab printer users. COURSE OBJECTIVES: At the end of this course, you will be able to recognize and classify important woody landscape plants by their common and scientific names, describe key characteristics of each plant, and be able to apply this knowledge for proper plant selection and use in the landscape. Lectures • HORT 117 • Mondays and Wednesdays • 8:30 - 9:20am • Before lecture, be sure to preview plant group and lecture notes! Lectures will emphasize plants listed in the larger font, and these will be the focus of the Wednesday characteristics quizzes. Plants that are indented and in smaller font will be covered primarily during plant walk periods. You will need to know all listed plants for the Thursday ID quizzes. The numbers are size group Designations. Check Blackboard link for further explanation.
