Paper Topic #2: The origins of the Cold War lie in the ideas and perceptions of policymakers from the United States, Great Britain, and the Soviet Union during the years between 1945 and 1947. Define George Kennan’s perspective on early Cold War relations and perceptions of the international balance of power in comparison to those of other officials from the Soviet Union and/or Great Britain. Assess the relative significance of the different perspectives that you analyze to the emergence of Cold War tensions between the East and the West.
