Home Depot SWOT 2 | P a g e Home Depot SWOT Analysis Internal Factors Strengths – The Home Depot has several competitive strengths, which makes it a hard company to compete against in the home improvement market. Home Depot’s strengths include: Business model Well known brand name Extensive product offerings Store Diversity Technological Advances Employee Knowledge The biggest strength of Home Depot is that of their business model. This business model is the first of its kind in the home improvement industry and it has revolutionized the way customers shop for home improvement products. Home Depot sells home improvement products and services to the Do-It-Yourself and home improvement customers in large warehouses that offer a wide variety of products. In these warehouses, Home Depot has knowledgeable staff that is educated on home improvement products. The primary driver of this business model is based on low prices. (Home Depot, 2009) The name of Home Depot has become synonymous with the home improvement industry. The reason for the association between these is that Home Depot has been considered the number one home improvement store in customer’s minds. The orange aprons, knowledgeable employees, and low prices have all contributed to Home Depot’s strong brand image.
