Tim Gillespie Business Finance Week 6 Financial Project Professor Kristin Gwyn Home Depot Financial Analysis Conditions that favor Home Depot While reviewing the ratios, and comparing it to the industry averages, it looked like there could be many conditions that favor Home Depot. One of the biggest conditions that would favor Home Depot’s market status is that of the housing market. Home Depot thrives on the do- it-yourself customer and that includes home improvement and construction of homes. In the current economic recession, the housing market and credit markets have gone down tremendously. Once these markets start to rise back up, Home Depot’s situation financially should start to stabilize once again and make them very competitive. Economic Conditions that Create a Challenge for Home Depot The economic conditions that affect Home Depot are when the housing market is down. When the housing market is down, construction companies are no longer purchasing materials from Home Depot and this lowers their sales and revenue.
