Heaton Dr. Holinger English III Honors-4 28 September 2010 Legal Murder “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator certain unalienable rights, and those are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness ” (Jefferson) (3AL). Abortion takes away these rights and is therefore unlawful. Who are we to take away a precious life (1RQ)? We did not create it and it is not ours to take away. God creates each and every one of us with a special plan in mind. “Now the word of the Lord came to me saying, ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I consecrated you; a prophet to the nations I appointed you’” (Jer 1: 4-5). God created each and every one of us; it is not our right to take away the precious life that God has gifted to the world. It is not our life, it is God’s. Some critics argue that because it is a woman’s body, it should be her choice what to do. A Manhattan doctor helped to disprove this theory through a medical mix up. While performing in vitro fertilization, he mistakenly put the embryo of a black couple into a white woman’s uterus along with others he had fertilized for the white couple. The black child developed in the woman’s body and was delivered as a healthy child (Newman). This situation shows the distinct
