Optimism Leading to The Positive  Advantage Shawn Achor is the author of The Happiness Advantage, which  relates positivity to work performance. Shawn taught "Positive  Psychology," one of the most popular classes at Harvard. After  reading about Shawn, I discovered a clip of him on Youtube that  really opened my eyes. Recently in class we have been discussing  our futures and careers. Professor Shulman has said "if you like  your job, you will never work a day in your life." Our discussions have been interesting, but like most of you I have  no clue what my future will hold and it scares me. In our text on  page 21, we discussed employees quality of life. The book  described this as overall satisfaction with his or her work  experience in the context of other life experiences. Additionally,  the way people view work is changing, because employees want  to feel the work they do is worth it rather than just trying to pay  the bills.   Shawn Achor's video  discusses how most companies  and employees practice the idea that if you work hard you will be  successful and happy. Is success really making people happy?  Shawn found that 75% of our job success is not by intelligence,  but actually our ability to manage our energy and stress in a
