I nternational Student Tuition Scholarship – Fall 2012 Awarded by the Office of International Affairs (OIA) Description This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to international undergraduate and graduate students for strong academic scholarship and financial need. It is applied toward tuition expenses only. Eligibility Criteria Students may be recipients of this scholarship a maximum of two times. Applicants must be international students in F-1 or J-1 status who are: Students who have completed at least one semester at UK in the current program. Currently enrolled full-time at UK Maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.75 for undergraduates or 3.0 for graduate and professional students Exhibiting quality of character and academic merit. Not sponsored students or students with a full assistantship or fellowship. Application Schedule The application and all supporting documents should be submitted to Room 214 Bradley Hall

Announcement of scholarship award and notification by letters to all applicants by April 30, 2012. Instructions for Applying 1. Print an unofficial transcript from myUK. 2. Request letters of recommendation from two UK faculty members or one faculty and one staff member who can comment on your character, academic performance, and your seriousness of purpose. You should submit them in a sealed, signed envelope. 3. Submit a typewritten essay of about 500 words discussing your goals after graduation, and how this scholarship would help you reach them. Please indicate information about your financial need.
