Occurs at the aggregate/family level but also at new product launches. Rolling planning Horizons replan each periond for the # of periods in the future to update process incase of changes to firm are made. Aggregate Production Plan- specifies prod rates, inventory, employment lvl, backlogs, possible subcontracting and other resources needed to meet sales plan. Balance demand plan with aggregate production plan for the S&OP Process. PLANNING OCCURS AT PROD LINE OR FAMILY LINE AND NOT INDIVIDUAL LINE, HENCE AGGREGATE. The goal of AGGREGATE PLANNING is to set tagets for inventory and capacity so supply=demand in intermediate term.
