APA Reference List Citations This is a guide to basic APA citations, covering most types of references that you are likely to cite for this class. It is not an exhaustive list, but the vast majority of sources you’ll end up citing will use on of the below formats. Please note that I don’t necessarily expect your reference list to be 100% perfect. There are a lot of rules and a lot of miniscule exceptions to those rules. Many published works, in fact, have minor reference errors. While I don’t expect perfection, though, I do expect you to legitimately try to properly cite your sources. If you have any questions about proper citation guidelines or if you need to cite a reference for which there is no example here, visit the OWL Web site [ http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/ ] or E-mail me on Blackboard.
