Unformatted text preview: MGT 304 Sach’s Article In Sach’s article he mentions four challenges that we face today. These four challenges are human pressures on the Earths ecosystem will cause dangerous change, massive species extinction, and the destruction of vital life-support functions, the world’s population is constantly rising at a dangerously rapid pace, one sixth of the world remains trapped in extreme poverty unrelieved by global economic growth, and we are paralyzed in the process of global problem solving. In the article he mentions that all of these were man made, and thus won’t fix themselves. The reason, according to Sachs, as to why cooperation may be impossible is partly the last challenged mentioned. Since we are paralyzed in the process of global problem solving, a lot of our means of solution are outdated. We are not adjusting with time. Another reason Sach mentioned was the fact that scientific research departments make far too little contact with each other.
