McDonald 2) Financial Calculator Grading: Best 5 of 7 Quizzes 30% 1 Midterm 25% Options Projects 20% 1 Final Exam 25% Grading Scale A≥ 93% A- ≥ 90% B+ ≥ 87% B ≥ 83% C ≥ 73% F< 73% Objectives This course will cover a broad range of derivative topics, both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of derivatives. Options, forward and futures, options on futures, swaps, and interest rate derivatives are some of the topics. Financial engineering and controlling risk are emphasized along with lessons learned from recent derivative-related losses. Attendance Policy Attendance may be taken at the start and/or end of the class period. Students not in attendance at the start and end of class time will be counted absent. The University’s absence policy will be used. You are permitted to be absent, without prior permission, twice as many times as class meets per week. Absences in excess of this policy are grounds for failure of the course. Grading Detail
