Unformatted text preview: correct in saying that drug dealing has a bad effect on their country. Even if it is harsh, rules are rules, and I believe that now that the law has been passed, it should definitely be enforced. This law may serve its purpose well. With such harsh penalties, the drug traffickers will hopefully fear getting caught, and move somewhere else. I do see one problem, though. The Gambian government does not have the resources needed to enforce the law. If they cannot enforce the law properly, increasing the punishment will not do much. They need to tighten up border security for this to work. Otherwise, it will have little effect.
