Hardwar e Design Assignment #2: Dice The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art Digital Logic Design: ECE150 HARDWARE DESIGN ASSIGNMENT #2 Spring 2006 DUE MON. 4/17 Each team will be required to build a circuit that mimics the "rolling" of a die. You will use 7 LEDs to display the output of the die. In addition, you will use one 7-segment display (with driver) to also display the output of the die. Figure 1 is the number map for the orientation of the LEDs. Figure 2 is the map for each possible outcome on a die. In addition to the normal criteria, you will also be judged on how you orient these output circuits. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Figure 1 The die is to be driven from a 3-stage Moebius counter (producing an output QaQbQc ) connected to a "fast" clock (555) which will need to be gated. This gate will act like a switch to mimic the "rolling" of the die. You may want to look into the push button switches to use here. Figure 3 is the sequence that your circuit will produce.
