This lab introduces the student to imaging with a single lens, the simple microscope and the simple telescope. Figure 1: Imaging with a single positive lens. Once the figure 1 has been arranged we positioned the lens to obtain 1:1 imaging. The measurements of s 1 and s 2 under these conditions were recorded as s 1 = 41.5[cm]; s 2 = 41.5[cm], and this yields a focal length of f = 20.75[cm].
