You are nervous, aren’t you? EVY. I hated that place so much I used to save up matches, planning to burn it down. It was a damn prison. And then when it came time to leave I was afraid to go…I suddenly felt comfortable there…Can I have my cigarette, please? TOBY. That’s almost a whole pack since we left the hospital. Are you sure they said it’s all right to smoke? EVY. Once you pay your bill and check out, they don’t care if you get knocked off by a dwarf. ( Takes the cigarette and smokes .) I though I’d have a million things to do once I got home. I’m here six minutes, I’m bored to death. TOBY. You’ve got to give yourself time, Evy. And then you’re going to start your life all over again and you’re going to grow up to be a beautiful wonderful person like me. EVY.
