GSLS 112 Listening/Speaking II Test 2: Face to Face Interview The Interview Students are required to participate in a 4-5 minute individual interview conducted by the course instructor. The purpose of this assignment is to provide students with practical experience in the interview process and to enhance students’ competence in formal dialogue. Students will be challenged to utilize listening and speaking skills effectively and encouraged to be creative with their work. This test is divided into two parts: In part one, the student will draw a number (out of 6) to decide on the topic he/she will speak about. The student will then talk for 2 minutes on this topic. In part two (2-3 minutes), the examiner will ask a series of questions generally related to what the student has spoken about regarding the chosen topic.

Please practice asking and answering questions with a classmate to become comfortable with the interview process. Note: At the beginning of one student’s interview, the next student will draw a number in advance and prepare in the waiting area for 5 minutes before his/her turn.
