Lauren Schmidt INTS 210 December 4, 2011 Reading Journal Reading Log #5 In the films, Zapatista and This Is What Democracy Looks Like , different political agendas are discussed in the ways of documentaries. Zapatista is a film that analyzes the movement behind the Zapatista Army of National Liberalization in and around Mexico and how the government responded to it. The Zapatistas are composed of a wide variety of backgrounds, many being indigenous. The organization is non-violent but has an agenda that is ready to compact several different issues surrounding military, corporations, and government. This film dives into the plight of the Zapatistas and shows how the Mexican government is constantly persecuting them. The video talks about how the government is upset because the Zapatistas are limiting their control and their economy by wanting to do away with mistreatment from corporations. This film shows several types of mistreatment towards the Zapatista movement as a whole, but one of the
