7. Propose a sequence of reactions which would lead to the synthesis of compound 'X' shown below. As reactants, you can use any alkene or alkenes of 8 carbons or less; any one-carbon compounds at all, and any of the reagents we commonly saw in the text or in lecture. In addition, you can "buy" phenyl acetylene for 5 points in you wish - but if you want to use phenyl acetylene, and you can make it on your own from allowed reagents, you can use it without a 5 point penalty. (15 points total - but 10 points maximum if you use phenyl acetylene without making it).
