When I first started watching Trudeau: Free Money, I thought it was a legitimate look into a possible scam that Kevin Trudeau was running. I was seeing the books, the results and the supposed investigation and I kept thinking to myself “this is literally too good to be true”. I mean, come on, if it was true, everyone would be doing it. I kept watching and listening closely and then I realized that this wasn’t an investigation at all. Instead it was a very carefully crafted sales pitch and infomercial. I don’t spend a whole lot of time watching T.V. and I don’t think I have ever sat through more than two minutes of an infomercial, but I am pretty keen at spotting advertising and different tricks used by marketers to appeal to certain demographics and psychographics, and this infomercial did a phenomenal job at targeting the right people who would actually pay for these books. Let’s first look at the target market for this product. The main target market would be individuals who make a below average salary, have accrued a large amount of debt, or people who just are generally poor. This demographic is constantly looking for ways to make more money, to get out of debt and to have a better lifestyle. The infomercial plays on these wants and needs of the people and offers them a solution to a better lifestyle for just the cost of a book and some shipping and handling. Now from what I
