Marguerite Wilson Facebook – Getting Customers Involved Companies: 1. Starbucks 2. H&M 3. Vitamin Water 4. Microsoft 5. STA Travel These 5 retailers use facebook to create and promote brand awareness. They are successful because they focus on developing and fostering customer relationship instead of just marketing their products and services. They get their customers involved through their company facebook pages and in turn create value for the customers while simultaneously building brand loyalty and generating success for their business. Although Starbucks is a large corporation, they have made put effort into understanding and correctly incorporating local culture and this is reflected in their facebook page. In addition to their main company page, Starbucks has localized pages for each of their stores, allowing each location to direct their page content towards their local community. They also promote community projects and events through these local pages. Starbucks also promotes community involvement on a global scale by promoting world wide philanthropic campaigns on their page. Starbucks also uses facebook to niche market their customer base. Technological advancements in facebook allow companies to specify who will see status updates and posts based on their location and the language they speak. This helps optimize every Starbucks’ customer experience regardless of where they are from or what language they speak. The most important objective of Starbuck’s facebook marketing strategy is that they want to get their customers involved.
