It describes the product(s), markets, segments, and targets for xyz company. This executive summary will provide the following: 1. Analysis of the current situation 2. The objectives of the plan 3. Strategies, or the best way to achieve those objectives 4. Tactics – what are the actions that will insure that the strategies are executed upon 5. Control – a description of how the actual performance will be in-line with the objectives of the plan 6. Budgetary Needs CONTEXT Describe the history, chronology, and performance of this product. It should include a description of its successes and its challenges in contributing toward the goals of the company. Provide several years of relevant information, including markets served, market share, competitors, the evolution of competitive activity, and a high level profit and loss profile. This will allow any reader to put the marketing plan in perspective. This section should be from one-page to three-pages long, depending on the complexity of the product and markets.
