Nonverbal expectancy theory- If the listeners expectations about how communication should be expressed are violated than they will feel less favorable toward the speaker Emotional Contagion theory- People tend to catch on to and notice the emotions of others Methods of Delivery- Manuscript: reading a speech from a written text. Memorized Speaking: delivering a speech word for word from memory Impromptu speaking: devlivering a speech without advance prepartation
