Tuition Reimbursement Implementation Report Implementing tuition reimbursement into the company’s policies will benefit both the company and the employees. When tuition reimbursement is implemented through the company, employees are more likely to stay with the company due to long term growth opportunities. Benefiting the employees with the opportunity to learn and utilize new skills not only benefits the employees, but it benefits the company in terms of on the job training and replacing employees that are retiring. Tuition reimbursement is a popular benefit for employees which can be given by the employers in many different ways. One way is direct tuition reimbursement; at the beginning of each term the school bills the employer for all tuition, fees, room, board, and all other assessed charges authorized and incurred (Carmichael, June 04, 2008). Another form of employer tuition assistance would be where the employer will ask you to front the cost for the term or quarter, and then the company will pay you for the term when grades are received (Carmichael, June 04, 2008). Grants and Scholarships are another form of employer education assistance used; these can also be used for your dependents however they require you to be in a degree seeking program. The majority of the time you must retain a minimum GPA in order to continue to receive the tuition assistance from the employer (Carmichael, June 04, 2008). When job searching is being done by potential employees, the benefits given to the employees will help to determine whether or not the person applies to the job. Employees that receive the benefit to further their education have a much better chance of being promoted within the company. This saves both the employee and the company money. The company can save money on completing employee searches, interviews, and training. The employee can save money by being reimbursed for their education costs, so not only can they have a good portion of their degree paid for. The employee can then take comfort in job security, knowing that they can
