HIPAA Compliance of 1996 HIPAA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, is all about the protection of patient health information (PHI), treatment payment of health care operations The HIPAA law includes simplifying administrative aspects of the health care system, analyzing the electronic data transactions, and protecting and securing the patient’s health care information from unauthorized persons. When an organization or employee of the health care industry enters, they must be provided and provide the adequate training that is needed to be in compliance of the HIPAA rules and regulations. Employees of organizations and the organizations themselves that are covered by the health care entities should be trained to abide by the HIPAA rules and privacy laws so that the misuse of patient and health care information is prevented.
