HOMEWORK 3: The long-anticipated 8-puzzle! GRADING: Part 1: 1 point Part 2: 2 points Part 3: 0.5 points Part 4: 1.5 points Program the parts indicated in bold. And answer the questions at the end in your email. Answers to later parts will need the first parts to work correctly. To start, download the zip file for the Java starting project. Unzip it into a directory, and open the Java project in your MS J++. Make sure you can Build and run the code. You’ll need to enter the x and y positions for each of the 9 tiles, with tile 0 as the blank. Send the written answers (plus the project file folder) by email to [email protected] . If you go to Start Accessories Command Prompt, and change to your directory, you can run the code outside of the Java editor. You’ll need to type in the locations for each tile without the prompts, if you try this. Type Recitation4 > rec4.out to send the printed output to a file—but be careful, these files get BIG quickly, especially for mixed up boards, and you may also run out of memory, so don’t be surprised if doing this creates a big output file rec4.out or runs you out of memory.
