Josh Sawyer Dr . Tatto TE 250 Sec . 16 Thought paper based on 1/9/12 Teaching Identity In this modern age of education , students are bombarded by a variety of external factors. A student is shaped by an ever increasing amount of positive and negative influences in the classroom and outside of school . These influences are almost more important then what a teacher can teach a student . A student’s experiences outside of the classroom shape not only their personality but their learning style as well . In the classroom, teachers need to acknowledge this diversity as well as introducing new thinking . As teachers, we need to recognize these influences on a student and create a learning environment for them . A student’s cultural, social, and personal experiences develop them as a person and a learner and their schooling should acknowledge this fact . Who and how students develop inside and outside the classroom are detrimental to how they will learn fort their educational future . Students develop much of their personal morality and personality in their time outside of
