Part 1: Respiration (30 points- 3 points each) 1. What is the general formula for cellular respiration? The general formula for cellular respiration is C6 H12 06 + 6O2 6CO2 + 6H2O + Energy (ATP). 2. Where does cellular respiration take place? The first step of cellular respiration takes place in the cytosol, while the other two take place in the mitochondria. 3. Is ventilation the same thing as respiration? While they both deal with oxygen and carbon dioxide, they are not the same thing. Respiration is a chemical process whereas ventilation is a physical one. 4. What role does the blood play in respiration? Bloods role in respiration is that of a transporter. Blood transports oxygen and carbon dioxide to where they are needed throughout the body. 5.
