Sharkey’s Promotional Deals I was at Sharkey’s restaurant and bar in Radford last night for my friend’s 21 st birthday dinner, and immediately noticed signs advertising promotions at the entrance of the restaurant. This Sharkey’s, like the one in Blacksburg, is a popular spot downtown for students to eat and drink at the bar on Friday and Saturday nights. However, I was there on a Tuesday, and was surprised at the number of customers present. I expected the restaurant to be relatively empty, but there were hardly any empty tables. Some restaurants are simply closed on Mondays and Tuesdays because they do not typically get enough business right after the weekends, but from my impression, Sharkey’s manages to stay open and profit all days of the week. Maybe I just happened to be there on a good day, but I suspect that the amount of customers could have something to do with their successful and effective use of off‐peak pricing promotional deals.
