Arianna Marks Professor Hall Section 0402 Can the "White Flight" be Proven? Daynah Boyd’s main argument in the article "White Flight" is how personal and social networks tend to be homogeneous, and how it is human nature that people like to stay with those that are similar to them, those with shared characteristics. She argues that it comes down to race, class distinction, and values that stem from those differences. Although it is not admitted, the language and group labels used to socially categorize in high schools, reveal the truth behind modern racism. Boyd's point is "to offer stark framework for seeing the reproduction of social divisions in a society still shaped by racism." Boyd wishes to be the first to prove what none of us what to admit still exists, that neither class nor social media is colorblind. Boyd's evidence comes off to be slightly convincing, it backs up her argument in that her evidence correlates to her claim, however Boyd's claim is very far fetched and nearly impossible to statistically
