EXP 3604 Assignment #1 NAME Allison Wronka ASSIGNMENT ID 5119595 Hypothesis Using the video “Movie Perception Test” I will test the effect of being told about editing mistakes beforehand on change blindness. The video consists of two women, Sabrina and Andrea, discussing a surprise party. The video has six intentional editing mistakes. My independent variable is whether or not participants are told about the editing mistakes before watching the video. The dependent variable is the percent of mistakes the participant detects. The percent of detection is how many mistakes they detected out of the six. My hypothesis is that the group of participants that are told to watch about the editing mistakes before watching the video will have a higher detection percentage and less change blindness than the group of participants who are not told about the mistake. I believe this will be a correct hypothesis because being told to watch out for the editing mistakes will cause the participants to focus their attention which will increase the likelihood of detecting or perceiving the editing changes which results in less change blindness.
