Lab #2, SLC-500 Fundamentals – Part 2 page 1 of 6 MFET 374 Manufacturing Integration I Spring 2010 Laboratory Assignment #2 SLC-500 Fundamentals - Part 2 Objectives: In this exercise you will: Practice making voltage measurements. Learn how to create a custom data monitor which monitors user specified PLC data. Learn how to create and configure an STI (selectable timed interrupt). Use a CPT instruction to perform a math operation. Work with SLC-500 files and use indexed addressing. Preparation: It is assumed you have read the following power point presentations: SLC-500 Overview SLC-500 Fundamentals It is also assumed you have completed laboratory assignment #1 – SLC-500 Fundamentals . Phase 1 – Take some voltage measurements In laboratory #1 you wired a two-wire and a three-wire inductive proximity switch to the SLC-500 controller. In this phase you will take some relevant voltage measurements. Refer to the power point presentation Working with 3-Wire Proximity Switches as necessary. Proceed as follows : a) Download and run your lab 1 phase 4 program. As in lab #1, download your program using RS-232 serial communications (Channel 0). b) Measure and record the power supplies output voltage. Power supply voltage = ______________________________ volts c) Measure and record the voltage across the fuse: Voltage across the fuse = ______________________________ volts (Note: We are assuming the fuse is good).
