After conquering England, Joan was captured and put on trial for witchcraft which later resulted in her being given the death penalty, and was burned at the stake for her religion. When: 1412-1431 Where: Domrémy-la-Pucelle, France Why: Her role in the Hundred Years War is one of the first early occurrences of a woman beating male standards by Joan joining the army. Abstract Topics: Perseverance, faith, willingness, dedication Significance, Relevance, and Importance: Joan of Arc impacted the whole future of France and England by commanding the French army to victory. She was declared a saint due to her tragic death of being burned on the stake for her religious beliefs Joan’s actions will forever be praised upon for her heroic and passionate behavior.
