1 Personal Learning Network Plan Heidi Nors Walden University
2 Personal Learning Network Plan Both personal learning network (PLN) and personal learning environment (PLE) respectively are essential to a successful scholarly journey that will develop into a thriving career by offering a platform for encouragement, guidance, and learning potential. PLN’s and PLE’s can be integrated into the virtual learning environment (VLE) to collaboratively enhance the learning potential for the successful student (Marin, Negre, & Perez, 2014).With the rise in virtual learning, from primary schools to universities, PLN’s and PLE’s support student-centered learning enabling students to take control and manage their own learning (Marin, Negre, & Perez, 2014). Personal Learning Profile and Platforms While creating my PLN profiles, the primary consideration is knowing the desired outcome. My PLN profile includes my full name, a current professional headshot, my professional interest in accounting and finance, and a brief description of who I am, and a brief on my experience. In using my full name as opposed to a “nickname,” I will be presenting myself at the professional level I hope to attract. I will only place a headshot of myself, not family nor vacation pictures, this type of photo will allow others to see “Me.” Expressing my interest and a summary of who I am will allow individuals to have a more in-depth perspective on myself and goals. The three primary platforms I will use are LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook to build my PLN, this is based on the reputations each of these global platforms holds for connecting like-minded individuals and offers the user an option to be selective in their audience (Grantham, 2012).
