Some Aids for Career Exploration and Job Searching Career Planning BYU provides a variety of resources to students at www.byu.edu/stlife/cdc/uac/tests.php . Among these resources is Discover, which is computer program to help with career planning. Using three separate tests, Discover matches one’s interests, abilities, and values to certain occupations and plots them on the World of Work Map. About an hour is required to complete the program. Learning About Self and Career, Choosing an Occupation, Planning Your Education, and Planning For Work are just a few more options that are available on Discover. Current BYU students can obtain a user ID to try Discover by sending an email to discover@byu.edu. Researching companies and opportunities Research on a variety of companies and opportunities can be done with Vault, a contracted service available free on campus (or from off campus with Route Y authentication).
