Audience? What information does audience need? Best format? Take-home message? How much space do you have? (dimensions) Parts of a Poster Title, authors, institution (can be a banner) Abstract (not displayed unless required) Introduction What is the problem you are working on? Why is it interesting or important? What did previous work show? Materials and methods (minimize, use flow chart) Results (use graphs and tables) Conclusions (relevance, future work) Acknowledgements References (if not included in body) 5 3 Poster Organization Concentrate on one major point Let figures, tables and flow charts tell most of the story Explain significance of figures immediately above or below figure Organize poster in 3 5 columns left to right Edit text to the bare minimum About 800 total words maximum Use bullets to organize and order elements rather than blocks of sentences Must be readable in 5 10 minutes 6 Typography Use san serif font for titles and headings Arial Black Arial (bold) Helvetica (bold) 36 point for headings 72 120 point for title,...
