Jamilano Mia Marie Jamilano Professor Hand Expository Writing September 6 , 2011 “The Eyes of the Skin: Architecture and the Senses .” According to the new Oxford American dictionary , art is defined as “the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination , typically in a visual form such as a painting or sculpture , producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.” Art has the ability to sculpt more than just a figurine or brush up on a canvas , “art projects an unattainable ideal , the ideal of beauty that momentarily touches the eternal (292).” This craving for perpetual longing can simply be found within the anatomy of a designed structure , in other words , architecture. Architecture provides this ceaseless moment through its auditory experience . Of all the human’s senses , sound oaths to tranquility that sight or touch is impotent to bear. Just like the worn out phrase , after a storm comes a rainbow, everything has their transitions. The product of
