Supporting local businesses: “gift that gives back to the community” Hi everyone, My name is Alex and this afternoon I am going to inform you of 6 reasons why you should buy from locally owned businesses and vendors. The 6 reasons include: Supports community groups Creates more good jobs Receive Better Customer Service Keeps Community Unique Goes Back to the Community Buying what you want 1) Support Community Groups When community groups are supported they become more likely to give back to the community that they are involved in and support entrepreneurial growth as well. With that said, Non-profit organizations receive on average 250% more support from small business owners than from large businesses. The more people that are employed in an area the higher growth becomes and more local items become available. 2) Create More Good Jobs Buying from locally owned businesses helps in creating more good jobs for our economy. Small, local businesses are the largest employer nationally, and in our community provide the most jobs to residents. It has been shown that companies with fewer than 250 employees hire 80% of the workforce. 3) Better Customer Service How many of you would rather have a salesperson that is willing to go out of their way to answer a question for you than have a salesperson that just says, “I don’t know” and goes on
