Alexandria Hilliard Reaction Paper # 1 History 102-4412 Carole Shroeder Program #27-The Reformation Listening to this program made me feel like we (Americans) are living the history that I am learning about. In the beginning when Eugen Weber was talking about how modern monarchs and monarchies appeared as the 15 th century turned into the 16 th , and they considered themselves more important than other people, or people not in the same class as them. It makes me feel like we are living the history I am learning about because the monarchs being more important is similar to the how politicians in America that are higher up sometimes think they are better than the “average person”. To me it just proves that there always has been and more than likely will always be the people that believe they are above somebody else. I understand it when it comes to some religions because that is what someone believes and people are in agreement with it. When it comes to societies though I think everyone, for the most part, should treat each other the same and have the same respect for the person next to them. This also reminds me of what was discussed in class with Voltaire. Jesuit education was very dynamic, he spent eleven
