1 Wk 11 Discussion: Advocacy As everyone who is living in the world today knows, there has been a lot of unrest lately. We're in an active pandemic, protests against systemic racism and police brutality have continued to grow, and most recently, the topic of human trafficking, more specifically children being trafficked, has exploded. There are tons of ways to be an advocate, even from our homes during quarantine. I started by talking to my family and friends who were more opposed to defunding the police, putting money into social services, and remembering to serve our neighbors by wearing our masks. For my birthday, I ran a fundraiser on Facebook for Black Trans Advocacy Coalition. I donated to fundraisers of others when I could, and I volunteered at a local food bank. I shared petitions and encouraged friends and family members to sign them. The most important time to volunteer and work in outreach is now. There are so many people who are suffering and struggling to make it from one day to the next. There has never been a more important time than
