Purpose Complete Business Solutions Australia (CBSA) is committed to a working environment which enables staff to grow and develop their skills and knowledge. Professional development supports CBSA’s ongoing investment with development of its staff, to ensure that staff are growing in line with the organisation goals and objectives. Policy 1. Professional development 1.1. Employees should always seek approval from designated authorities before arranging any professional development activities. 1.2. Application for professional development activities should be applied for via your direct manager. 1.3. CBSA will consider funding professional development activities on behalf of staff if the activity is in line with organisational directions. 1.4. Each application for funding will be considered and decided upon by the General Manager. 1.5. The company allocates funding of $2,000 per employee per financial year for professional development unless authority is granted for more than this amount in special circumstances Procedures 1. 360 Feedback 1.1. CBSA uses the 360-degree feedback method. 1.1.1. This will occur once a year, usually at the end of the year. 1.1.2. Staff are to access a copy of the Professional Development Self-Assessment Form and fill it out electronically. 1.1.3. Self-assessments must be as honest as possible to inform future development needs. 1.1.4. Comments should be made at each section. 1.1.5. The completed form is to be emailed to their direct manager. 1.1.6. 360-degree feedback must include feedback from the following sources: One subordinate (if in a management role) One other person in a different department One person external to the organisation (client, supplier, contactor, etc) Direct manager (in person, in a confidential meeting) Page 2 of 5

1.2. The employee’s direct manager will choose the personnel to participate. 1.2.1. The 360-degree Feedback form must be used by those participating.
