SEC charges former CEOs of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac with fraud; “Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac executives told the world that their subprime exposure was substantially smaller than it really was," said Robert Khuzami, SEC's enforcement director. "These material misstatements occurred during a time of acute investor interest in financial institutions' exposure to subprime loans, and misled the market about the amount of risk." 2.) St. Paul Croatian Federal Credit Union COO guilty of fraud, bribe; Anthony Raguz, 52, of Mentor, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court Tuesday to bank fraud, money laundering and bank bribery. According to the indictment: Raguz issued more than 1,000 fraudulent loans totaling more than $70 million to more than 300 account holders from 2000 to 2010. He also accepted more than $500,000 in bribes, kickbacks and gifts from St. Paul customers who fraudulently obtained loans. 3.)
