Jessica Yin CIS2200H- XZ24H Prof. Izen Chapter 4 Assignment- Short Answer Questions 1. Databases are what aid organization in both transaction and analytical processing. A relational database is the most popular of all different databases. Relational databases use a series of logically related two dimensional tables or files to store information in the form of a database. This is the same as a spreadsheet because a spreadsheet also stores information in a two- dimensional file. The difference is the physical vs. logical. Spreadsheets require that you know the physical location of information by row number and character. Databases only require that you know logically the information you want. 2. Databases are what aid organization in both transaction and analytical processing. You create rows and columns of information. In a database, you only need to know what information you need to obtain it unlike a spreadsheet, where you need an exact location. 3.The four steps in designing and building a relational database are defining entity classes and primary keys, define relationships among entity classes, define information (fields) for each
