I am going to cover the fast growing trend of HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) for this assignment. HDMI was founded by several major corporations and started development in early 2002. HDMI was created to improve on the DVI and component (YCbCr) by using a smaller connector and combining video and audio. With flat screen monitors and televisions the HDMI I/O device has been an almost necessity with any system. HDMI is an uncompressed all digital signal that combines audio and video signals. HDMI allows the digital signal to travel as a digital signal unlike analog which has to translate the digital signal to analog then back to digital. With HDMI there will be no distortion with the signal and video and audio will come through more clearer and crisper. There are 3 types of

With the creation of HDMI there is less wires to mess with, and the video and audio quality is a plus. HDMI can be used for a variety of things ranging from home theatre, game play and computer work. This only disadvantage I see with HDMI is its expensive price tag. The cheapest I have been able to find a cable at the local supercenter is $21 for 5 ft. But as this item grows and expands the price is sure to decrease like everything that stays in the market over a period of time....
